ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (NABL)
The gold standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. In India, this is executed through NABL accreditation, providing absolute confidence in the validity of your test results.
Technical Competence Requirements
Unlike ISO 9001, which only audits the management system, ISO 17025 strictly audits technical competence. You must prove scientifically that your lab produces valid results.
Measurement Uncertainty (MU)
No measurement is perfect. We guide your technical team through the complex mathematics of identifying uncertainty budgets (Type A and Type B evaluations), calculating combined uncertainty, and stating expanded uncertainty with a 95% confidence level.
Proficiency Testing (PT) & Inter-Lab Comparisons (ILC)
External quality assurance is mandatory. We help you establish schedules for participating in NABL-approved PT programs or arranging robust ILCs using Z-score analysis to prove your lab's performance against peers.
Method Validation & Verification
Before using a standard method (ASTM, IS), it must be verified. If using non-standard or modified methods, full validation is required (checking Linearity, LOD, LOQ, Precision, Bias, and Robustness).
Metrological Traceability
Clause 6.5 requires unbroken chains of calibrations linking your measurements directly back to the SI units (International System of Units).
- Ensuring all reference standards are calibrated by NABL accredited calibration labs.
- Establishing proper drift monitoring and intermediate checks for primary reference equipment.
